Flammability Testing Capabilities
Flammability testing is used to determine the burn
rate and burn characteristics of materials. Different
positions are used to test the materials, due to their
type and application. Three of the most common
positions are:
- Vertical – A sample is suspended vertically and
burned from the bottom of the material to the top.
- Horizontal – the material is placed on a u-frame
horizontally and the flame is applied perpendicular
to the end.
- 45° - The material is suspended at a 45° angle
horizontally and the flame is applied perpendicular
to the end.
