Abrasion Testing
Capabilities
Abrasion testing is most commonly used for fabric or plastic
materials. One of the main factors governing abrasion testing
is the abradant that is applied to the test samples, the weight
applied to the specimen, and the abradant type. MGA is equipped
to run the following types of abrasive tests: |
- Taber – Rotary abrasion with rubber abrasive wheels.
- Wyzenbeek – Oscillatory abrasion with flexible abradants
such as sandpaper and cotton duct.
- Crocking – Color fastness to rubbing abrasion.
- Martindale – Rotary abrasion in the form of a Lissajous
figure.
