Superweek
By: Donna Janovicz - Burlington

Since 1992, MGA has been a host site for one day of the 17-day cycling event known as Superweek. Now in its 39th season, Superweek continues to be part of the National Racing Calendar and features races in twelve city centers throughout Eastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Races in six classes were contested over a 9-mile course on our proving grounds and outlying local roads and draws cycling enthusiasts from around the world, including MGA customers!

July 18th was a beautiful, sun-filled day as riders began with a neutral rollout around the north track of the facility. Then out onto the narrow and rolling country roads of Lyons, Wisconsin. Just before the finish line, there are two turns to re-enter the grounds; an off-camber left turn and a sweeping downhill turn of almost 180 degrees. Then it’s a flat, fast half-mile to the finish line. The finish line is located on the 12-acre vehicle dynamics area where you can finally relax and watch the rest of the riders.
