MGA-SC Hosts ASQ-Palmetto
Section Meeting
By: Natalee Small - Greer
On June 14, 2011, MGA-SC location
hosted an on-site meeting and tour for the ASQ (American
Society for Quality) Palmetto Section. This organization
brings together many professionals who are involved with South
Carolina businesses. The meeting is held monthly to discuss a
range of topics that relate to quality and how it can be
impacted or improved on a day to day basis.
MGA was honored to host this
year’s End of the Season Meeting. We had a great turn out that
included over 40 people from the area. Following a sit down
dinner and refreshments, a tour of the test laboratory was
conducted which included various test demonstrations. Mark
Nowakowski and Philip Carpentier, MGA test engineers, led the
tour and answered many questions. The test demonstrations
included a Head Injury Criteria (HIC) test, Door Slam Life
Cycle, and a Seat Back Airbag Deployment. Quality
assurance is extremely important to manufacturing plants to
ensure they are producing good products. When issues arise
that affect the integrity of the product, in depth testing is
key to determining the issue. MGA makes it a priority to
guarantee that appropriate measures are taken to conduct the
testing properly.
We would like to thank the ASQ
committee as well as all who attended for allowing us to
discuss and demonstrate our capabilities at our South Carolina
lab. For more information regarding the Palmetto section of
ASQ, please visit their website at:
